Volunteering and Supporting
Would you like to Help Others?
Volunteers are essential to help meet the needs of many older people in our community.
We very much value our volunteers and support them in the work with such help, supervision, encouragement and training as appropriate. We want our volunteers to feel part of the "Team" and provide them with opportunities to be involved in the planning, development or improvement of our services.
Opportunities include:
* Drivers with their own vehicles to take clients to health, welfare and other appointments. We pay a mileage rate towards the cost.
* Visiting to befriend the lonely.
* Help at our Club.
* Help with fund raising activities.
Please contact Christine West at our office to discuss opportunities.
Would you like to Help US to Help Others?
We aim to operate as efficiently as possible, but even with so much help from volunteers there are significant costs associated with running the Charity and maintaining the services.
We are very grateful for the grant from Reigate and Banstead Borough Council which we have received each year for several years.
However we constantly need to work at fundraising in many ways in order to "balance the books"
We are very grateful for all donationsand legacies. If you would like to help in either way make sure that cheques and bequests are specifically for Age Concern Banstead (Charity No.272594).If this is not made clear they may go to an Age Concern Charity elsewhere and not benefit older people around the Banstead area.
If you are a taxpayer and make a donation then please complete a Gift Aidform which can be supplied by our office (01737 352156). We can then reclaim tax without cost to you.
You also have the opportunity to support our work by becomming a member of Age Concern Banstead. The annual subsciption is £5.00 and membership is open to eveyone over the age of 50.
