The following questions are among those that our services are designed to answer.

Do you need Information or Advice?

* Our service is free. We have information on most topics which we have found by experience are relevant to older people in the area. If we cannot answer enquiries directly we guide you to an agency that can. Common enquiries relate to:

• Help in the home
• Community alarms
• Health & welfare organisations
• Suppliers of Frozen Meals
• Aids to daily living
• Obtaining financial support

Do you need transport for your health & welfare appointments?

*  We have a scheme operated by volunteers using their own cars to pick you up at home and bring you back afterwards. There is a mileage related charge for this service.

Do you feel you need help to cope in your own home?

*  We would be pleased to visit you in your home to discuss the best ways of getting the help you need.

Do you feel lonely?

*  We could arrange for a volunteer befriender to visit you regularly for a chat and a cup of tea.

Have you been bereaved?

* If so you may like an opportunity to share your thoughts and feelings with someone who understands the long process of grief. Alternatively  you may like to meet others informally in similar circumstances at our Bereavement Support Group.

Do you need equipment such as bath aids or hand rails?

* Our Occupational Therapist can give you advice on what would be appropriate. She can also arrange for installation if you would like her to.

Do you have difficulty cutting your own toe nails?

 * In partnership with Age Concern Surrey and Banstead Centre we have developed a toe nail cutting service "Feet First"

Do you feel safe and secure?

* By working together with other organisations we can often help to improve your safety and security in your own home.

Would you like an introduction to our social club?

* By meeting regularly with others for social activities and occasional outings, life becomes more satisfying and we also encourage one another.

Do you need a handyman?

* We can introduce a reliable handyman for many small jobs.

Would you like to consider buying insurance products or a funeral plan from Age Concern?

* We can provide introductory information.
