 Do you care for someone with dementia who lives with you?

 We have a monthly support group for CARERS of people with dementia and we meet on the second Wednesday of each month between 10.30am and 12 noon

 at the Banstead Day Centre

There is no charge for this group.

Our Men's Club meets on the first Friday of every month between 12pm and 2.00pm at The Day Centre in Banstead. This club is aimed specifically at our male clients who would like to get together with other men in a similar position to themselves and enjoy various activities, a glass of beer and a light lunch.

If you'd like to come along to our next meeting please contact the office. There is a small charge of £5.00 to cover costs.

Older people in the area meet on the 3rd Wednesday each month at the Banstead Centre

We have a minibus which has been specially adapted to carry elderly clients and up to three wheelchair users.

It is used most days to transport our elderly clients and is also available for hire at very reasonable rates for other organisations concerned with the elderly. We have a team of dedicated volunteer drivers and escorts and to find out more details about this service please contact the office.

We have a pool of volunteers with their own cars to provide transport, and escort elderly patients to and from health and welfare appointments. A charge is made to cover costs.

About Our Transport for Health Service

  • A driver will collect you from your home and drive you to the appointment
  • The driver waits for you, and when you come out of your appointment will then return you home.

  • If you would like a friend or relative to accompany you we can take an extra passenger

  • We can take wheelchairs

  • It is only available to clients who have no other way of getting to appointments.

What is the Cost?

We make a modest charge to cover our costs. You do not pay the driver directly, but wait for us to send you an invoice which you can either pay by cheque via the post, via telephone through the office using your credit/debit card, on-line or pop into the office.

We charge an annual service fee of £15. Fees for specific destinations depend on the distance that the driver travels calculated from the Banstead Centre. There is a minimum charge of £10. You will also need to pay any parking charges.

These charges include a waiting time of up to two hours. If you need to spend longer at your appointment please make sure that you let us know at the time of booking, and you will be invoiced for two drives.

Musical Memories is a weekly service for people with memory impairment AND their carers.  The group is led by professional musician Barbara Christopher and meets every Thursday afternoon at the Banstead Centre, a small charge is made for this service.  Please contact the office for further details.


Befriending icon

Help is available if you, or an elderly person you know, has difficulty getting out and about, due to illness or mobility problems.


It may be help with shopping, or just popping in for a cup of tea and a chat on a regular basis if you are feeling lonely.

We have a member of staff who will visit you at home to discuss any problems you might have and assist you in accessing the services that you require.

There is no charge for the visiting and assessment service. There would be a small charge to cover fuel costs for any shopping trips.

Does your hearing aid need a change of battery or a bit of an overhaul?


We hold regular hearing aid clinics, this service is available every 4th Wednesday of the month from 12:30 - 14:00. For more details of this free service please contact the office on 01737 352156.  

Please visit our Community Garden

Our garden has been open for 5 years and we welcome visitors on Tuesdays 10.30am - 12.30pm and Thursday afternoons between 2.30pm and 4.30pm. If you need help with transport please contact the office.

We have been so pleased with all of the produce and flowers that we produce. The garden is entirely organic and we even had enough fruit and veg to sell at Banstead Village Day.

Computer icon - Age Concern Banstead - help with your computer

If you are unable to get out and about we can help you learn the basics at home. Perhaps you would like to get to grips with email or video chat with your family and friends - we can helpy you to do this.

We sometimes have volunteers who would be willing to give up an hour or so of their time to help you learn your computer.

We ask for a donation of £10 per hourly session. 

Please contact the office if you are interested and, if necessary, we can put you on our waiting list.

Feet First icon - toe nail cutting service at Age Concern, Banstead

Do you find it difficult to cut your toenails?

Jackie Nunes MCFHP, MACHP, BAFHP - Footcare Practitioner, holds clinics weekly on Monday and Thursday at Banstead Day Centre. Jackie is fully insured, DBS checked and able to treat a wide range of foot complaints.

Our Bereavement Cafe is open on the second Thursday of every month between 11.00am and 12.00noon. It is held at the Banstead Day Centre and offers a chance to meet with others who understand the experience of loss.

The cafe is a space to talk about the pain of bereavement, and to find mutual support and encouragement when you need it most.

Our cafe is run in conjunction with Princess Alice Hospice and the Epsom Deanery. To arrange a place at the cafe please contact our office.


As well as our cafe there are others available:

St. Mark's Church in Great Tattenhams hosts a meeting between 10.30am and 11.30am on the second Saturday of each month. Please phone 01737 339013 for more information.
